National transport and logistics company signs a deal with Transaher expected to generate a return of over € 3.5 million in two years
KLOG – a 100% Portuguese transport and logistics company - has entered into a partnership with Transaher, a Spanish group with 25 years´ existence and a distribution network in Spain comprising 38 hubs. This agreement will enable the entities to work closer together and to operate as an integrated distribution network, sharing faster and more efficient transport plans.
KLOG expects this partnership to increase its business in the Iberian market by around 3.5 million euros, whereby Spain will account for 10% of the company´s total revenue, against the 5% it registers today. In total, the two entities deal with over 150,000 contracts / month in the Iberian market, meaning more than 440 vehicles will be on the roads of the Iberian Peninsula on a daily basis, resulting in the service quality rate (compliance with delivery deadlines) surpassing 98%.
This agreement will enable KLOG to work together with its customers to process exports to the Spanish market under a groupage system and to consolidate the daily trips to the neighbouring country in accordance with 24 and 48-hour delivery deadlines.
Moreover, KLOG intends to boost domestic transport in relation to B2B and B2C business, which the Portuguese company expects to account for 10% of total revenue in the next two years. In addition, Transaher will be able to guarantee its customers 24-hour delivery deadlines throughout Portuguese territory setting out from its Madrid unit.
Furthermore, this partnership will enable the entities to use the same work processes, specifically the same integrated software – operational and information systems – with all the inherent benefits, including the opportunity to provide the return of online information in real time, with receipt of delivery available on the web using mobile devices, both for deliveries in Portugal and Spain.
“This deal with Transaher is in line with our goal to expand the KLOG brand to priority and strategic external markets. The partnership will enable us to support our customers´ exports to the Spanish market, thereby guaranteeing a reduction in transit times and increasing the efficacy of the service”, declared José Cardoso, a director of KLOG.
