Sérgio Gomes, who has worked with institutions such as APIMA and Intereme will be the head of the new division
KLOG, a logistics and transport company whose capital is one hundred percent domestic, has just created a Contract Division – Furniture Logistics, dedicated to the furniture sector. Sérgio Gomes – a professional with around two decades of experience in the segment as sales director and team manager in the Portuguese and Spanish markets – will be the head of this new division. The creation of the Contract Division and hiring of Sérgio Gomes are only two of the various steps the company has outlined, aiming at providing a service adapted to the specific needs of each customer within this business area.
Sérgio Gomes has a university degree in International Relations from Universidade Fernando Pessoa and a post-graduate degree in Marketing and International Business from ISCTE. With deep knowledge of the furniture sector insofar as customers and partners, he has worked with APIMA (Portuguese Association of Furniture and Related Industries) and Intereme (a company that imports, produces and distributes Group Moutinho & Moutinho furniture products).
First domestic company with operations dedicated to the furniture sector
KLOG is the first national logistics and transport company to provide a solution dedicated to the furniture sector, which answers the internationalisation needs of the organisations within this business area. The company provides weekly shipments from Portugal to all of Europe, with equipment adapted to furniture transport. Also safeguarded are daily pick-ups and operational management from its logistics platforms.
Within this scope, KLOG signed a partnership agreement with Girard Agediss –leader in the French furniture transport market – and, more recently, with the European network Mach-3000, that is present in over 15 European countries, namely in Portugal, Spain, Germany, Italy and Scandinavia. In 2014, KLOG foresees invoicing 500 thousand euros with this operation. For 2015, prospects point to a turnover of around 1.5 million euros.
